I downloaded the client and the small map. I extracted the map file to the crossfire folder. Then when I click on the icon to play, theres a black screen thats loading stuff. Then it stops saying "Error while trying to load share/plugins/plugin_python.dll" Can someone help me please?
O, I just saw the Readme file and it said the server I used has only been tested with "big maps" but I downloaded a "small map" would that have something to do with it?

What OS are you using?
Which client? (gtk, cf client, SDL, or OpenGL)
Are you trying to play on a public server?
If so, you only need to download one of the clients.
If you want to to run your own server (private network, public or semi-public) then you will need to download the server.
-IF- the server is running Windows, then you do not need to download any of the map sets, you just need to download the server .exe
But, first things first: which client and what OS are you using?

According to DLL path, i'll assume it's Windows server.
You need to download bigworld maps, as latest server (1.6.0) has only been tested with it.
You can grab latest version from:
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/cros ... e?download
with release notes:
http://sourceforge.net/project/shownote ... _id=233728
Then install both server and maps in the same location.
The missing .dll issue can safely be ignored.

Ok, I downloaded the server, the client and gtk. When I try to run crossfire, I get a message saying the procedure entry point gdk_display_flush could not be located in the dynamic link library libgdk-win-2.0-0.dll. I looked the problem up and it said it might be because I have old versions of the gtk library. Do any of you know how to fix this?
