Summoning

I have learned 'summoning' and a summoning spell (lesser golem), but I get told 'not enough skill'. I seem to have enough sp, so what's the problem?

Aren't you repelled or denied from summoning?
Try to find a perceive scroll/rod/wand/staff to check.

There was a bug with being repelled, but it should have been fixed...

It turns out I'm repelled. Can I do anything to improve on that?

I can't be sure if an attune cancels a repel, but I think it might. Try one of these.

Have similar problem :

Character is dwarf, profession is summoner .

I played a little to level up , before I decided to convert to Mostrai .

Now I recognized, that summoning is repelled for followers of that dwarven god .

Looking into spell_util.c , I need advice, if I should convert (temporarily) to another god to be able to level summoning up to at least lvl 5 to be able to use summoning as supporter of Mostrai.

My exps are 64,000 - so no big deal to switch god I think.

Summoning skill level 5 for a Mostrai follower means they can cast level 2 (and lower) summoning spells.

Another way to get summoning EXP is to join a party with another person or character and travel to the same map. Then let that person kill monsters with the summoning skill and your Mostrai follower will gain summoning EXP.

Switching cults is another possibility, but at a loss of praying skill EXP.

I would try the party method first and then it's your call as to how effect that is or if it takes up too much time.

Yep, this happened once to me, joining a very high level player in regards to the praying level. That time I wondered how this could happen. Now I know it. Thanks !

Irritates me a little, because current trunk ( also (was looking into v1.11.0 since I had it handy) ) says

Nevertheless, had converted to Gaea now, also since I did not converted before - just for the personal experience - not for the +|-EXP, since I had no praying exp gained up to then.

Was well armoured then, and something pushed me away from Gaea's altar at first pray and second pray I converted successfully.

I don't use praying much, since it is kind of annoying not to gain grace back automatically like it does for mana .
