about the username.host.name.keys file

All of a sudden i got me some newish keys files in $HOME/.crossfire :

karl.localhost.keys
karl.crossfire.metalforge.net.keys

I am running the crossfire-client-gtk-1.12.0 from the sourceforge repository . I like the gtk-1 client much better than the gtk2 attempt, because i often run it in -split windowed mode and the coloration of the stat bars is working.

Since i have a bunch of clients on my linux partitions like

Code: Select all

 1) cfclient-1.10.0
 2) cfclient-1.11.0
 3) crossfire-client-gtk-1.12.0
 4) crossfire-client-gtk2-1.12.0
 5) crossfire-client-gtk2-1.50.0
 6) crossfire-client-gtk2-1.50.0-sdl-dmeta2
 7) crossfire-client-gtk2-1.60.0
 8) crossfire-client-gtk2-1.60.0-sdl_mixer-dmeta2
 9) crossfire-client-gtk2-1.70.0
10) crossfire-client-gtk2-1.70.0-sdl_mixer-dmeta2
11) crossfire-client-x11-1.12.0
12) gcfclient-1.10.0
13) gcfclient-1.11.0
14) gcfclient1v2-1.11.0-sdl-dmeta2
15) gcfclient2-1.10.0
16) gcfclient2-1.11.0
17) gcfclient2-1.11.0-sdl-dmeta2
18) xcfclient-1.11.0-sdl-dmeta2
I know a little how these work . I am asking if the username.host.keys file was an One-Hit-Wonder or have i overloocked something in the settings .

I am running latest SVN version of the trunk client and I don't have any files like that. I am running a different distro of Linux, but not sure if that matters.

Here's what I have:

gdefaults2
gtk-v1.pos
keys
msgs
servers.cache

First hint :
http://crossfire.real-time.com/code/cli ... /todo.html
Global keys_init
Fix the per-character keys file support that is under #if 0.
