Hi there,
as already known there is a possibility to summon golems (elementals etc.) which are vanishing after a certain time or when casting another spell. Besides that You can summon pet monsters which are based on random, level and class You are.
Now my suggestion: what about summoning definite monsters (types should be discussed) based on skill level/monster level for higher casting levels?
E.g.: a level 10 summoner should summon level 10-x monsters behaving like pet monsters, a level 50 summoner should be able to summon level 50-x monsters as above.
Background: many casting abilities have high level spells, summoners are cut off at about level 12 or so.
best regards,
Stephan-Alexander Heyn

So are you asking for some higher level pets for the 'summon pet monster' spell?
The pets given by the summon pet monster spell currently are listed on this wiki page under the spell description for the spell.
There is also the magehound spell which goes to higher levels, and some of these creatures are more powerful than the ones on the pet monster list.
Bear in mind also that you can use spell options to widen your choice of pets, so if you are > level 25 and need skulls rather than vampires, then you can invoke the spell with the option 'skull' (either in the spell window, or by typing it in the command box).
Finally there are cult monsters that you can get from your god, which can be more powerful still, although then you get random entries from their treasure list rather than one specific type IIRC.
If you want to expand the pet list beyond level 25, you are welcome to do so, simply add the extra entries to the end of this file and post the result on the sourceforge tracker.
When reading this:
Meflin runs a public server (invidious) which is used for testing these sorts of things, he can often be found on the #crossfire IRC channel.

- arch is the archetype name of the monster you get
nrof is the number of the monster you get
magic is the level you need to be to get them.
