Right, rods, wands, staffs, horns, scrolls etc. don't give xp.
(well, the actual reading of a scroll gives literacy xp, but not any additional xp if something gets killed by the scrolls effects)
And that is at least why I don't pay any attention to staves and such.
Perhaps they should be a little ...
