Does anyone have any tips on dealing with Major Djinns? Seem to be immune to all fire, ice, lightning, mana, poison and physical attacks. Race is said to be giant but even banishment of Mostrai has no effect. I'm at a bit of a loss and can't progress further without killing them. All advice ...

I think this is a great idea (sorry to post so late into the discussion) and agree that it would encourage extended stays in, and fuller exploration of, the world's cities. Maybe from the Nethack maps we could bring back a Candelabra of Invocation?

When entered from the west, message reads "Something is amis here". Should read "..amiss.."

When entered from the east, message reads "Oh, no something is not right here". Should read "Oh no, something..."

It causes fire damage. That, I think, is the point of it being classed as a fire spell.

That rather depends on your perspective. From where I'm sitting it works very nicely indeed.
